Aronia arbutifolia Red Chokeberry

Category:

Description

A branching shrub forms clumps by means of stems forming from the roots. Flowers are white, producing bright red fruits. The fruits are bitterly acidic (though edible) when eaten raw but are high in pectin and can be used to make delicious thick jams and jellies.

Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade.
