Tomato – Ramapo Hybrid “The Jersey Tomato”

Out of stock

Developed at Rutgers University in 1968, this once popular tomato disappeared as tomato growers, and shippers favored tomatoes with longer shelf life and thick skins.  But gardeners continued to ask for this reliable hybrid, and in 2008 Rutgers brought it back.  The New York Times described the Ramapo as “the Cadillac of the famed, tasty, zesty Jersey tomato.” Medium-sized, globe-shaped and red, it is also resistant to verticillium wilt and fusarium wilt (race 1).
