Established in 2018 as a community garden for West Orange residents age 60 or older, the UNICO Nicholas Vecchio Garden at Degnan Park contains 13 raised beds, 3 of which are wheelchair accessible. The garden is nestled within tranquil Degnan Park, adjacent to Vincent Pond and the Katz Community Center. The senior gardening program is sponsored and supported by the West Orange departments of Health, Special Services & Welfare, and Recreation, with special assistance from the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Essex County.
